TES: Why the idea of the Bosmer being Native Americans is wrong, and REALLY racist

Oh joy, it’s that time again. Time for Toshio to once again take out the trash when it comes to misconceptions of the Elder Scrolls races.

For those unaware, I saw this little gem on my dashboard a while ago, and was incredibly miffed.

Not only does it try and boil complex fictional races into…

Hmmm.. I never really identified the Bosmer with native Americans. In all honesty I always felt the Nord subculture of the skaal are much more Native American…the ash lander dunmer are far more Native American look up screenshots from tesIII.. Bosmer are inverse hippies..hipsters nearly they don’t know who the hell they are not since( in the lore) they were united under the camorans..sure they love animals..they probably would have eaten all the bison in North America.. They’re really alien and odd as a race of elves the only high fantasy relation to other woodelves of other series is they’re bowmen who like or live in trees… Bosmer are nuts, I love them but they’re crazy and really need strong leadership to whip them into shape.. Who knows maybe ayrenn can do it.. Honestly tribal dunmer compare far more to native Americans in look and in clannish culture

I really don’t think the devs really procured this idea btw..I don’t think they made the Bosmer(with beards, many time blonde and red beards, who drink fermented pigs milk because their crazy cool earth bone god Y’ffre doesn’t let them harm valenwood plants)

I will say this..I do have a problem with the lack of strong likable and respectable characters in TES’ portrayal of Bosmer compared with the rest of the races…we need more cool Bosmer

All in all I disagree with most of your points.. Bc these same points can be identified probably more with several other races/nations/and cultures… And it’s always been a thing about the Bosmer..they’re a hard one to put your finger on

The devs like Kirkbride, tedders, noonan really embraced contradictions early in the foundation of this series…

And they plant racism in these games for a purpose…it’s obvious toooo ding obvious..lol. Nords are racist towards elves in many ways their culture is at fault. The dunmer enslave the beast races for millennia they were at fault for that, the high elves are xenophobic assholes they are at fault..who’s the good guy?? Nobody!!!!

Nobody is the fucking good guy as a race as a culture it is the individuals who transcend this and change this I.e the player and his cronies through not always obvious efforts that have dynamic impacts on the future and fuckit the past…. BOOM CHIM!!!

Over done this series is far too dynamic for your prejudice paranoia mindset…you see shallow similarities in names and notions of a fictional race and think you’ve called a bluff..it’s funny.

The notion that Bosmer are native Americans is wrong because it really never existed…nature and bows and tribal people exist all the fuck over the world…nearly every habituated by humans part of the world had some form of tribal proto bow toting longhouse yurt living nature revering people at some stupid point. Long lived elven clans who could give a fuck and live under a strict code of not harming native vegetation, having to only eat meat(please don’t try to point out the fact that arctic Inuits survive mostly on seal and other meat, they are not Bosmer at all) and believe they can transform back into chaos demons who devour and destroy every living thing in its path, plus a people who build insect and amber resin cities, usually(in their homeland) have to consume every fallen enemy and…I’ll stop
